Ouch, think a beefy bike rack and hitch would of prevents some damage since it looks like it was an offset crash?

Default It gets worse..

I just cleaned out the car and took off the hood bra only to find the hood is off!!Also inside the car the drivers seat is off and wont ride in the track the 40/60 split rear seat has a huge gap.Looks like the force of the impact was transfered throughout the car.Anyone know if this is repairable or is this a totaled Xa??

Yours looks similar to my incident.

FWIW, the insurer totalled my car. The impact of mine transferred through to both rear passenger doors such that I don't feel it would ever be the same again.

I'm glad no one was hurt in your accident.

Your accident looks far worse than mine,Im really sorry to see that ,being yours too was an RS1 ..glade you were ok.Now the fun stuff ,dealing with the insurence companies, already Ive been warned not to have payment go directly to the autobody shop if it is repairable ,just to make sure all the work is 100% to my satisfaction.Next Ive got to work with her Insuence company to get a rental.I just hope they dont total it,I dont want to deal with not getting what its worth and then tring to find another RS1.....

dang man, thats a shame. It does show how well the xA's are made though, seeing as how the entire impact of a 30-35mph car spread throughout the car instead of simply putting the hatch just behind the drivers seat.

Well, rest assured that if it was totalled, you'd be getting at least what it's worth (~12k + taxes etc.). I found out that ehe RS1 xA had a lot of things going for it that allowed it to retain its value above the other xA's in the same generation. A few listings I am aware of that would affect the price are:

Glad to hear yours is fixable. I'm having a hard time trying to find an adequate replacement for my car...

Looks like $2k worth of damage...

Your back rear latch is still operational & both tail lights are intact...

I had a busted tail light & the rear latch door could not open... Your rear bumper absorber looked just like mine... Pretty much untouched... Hard to see it but right tail light was cracked...

Mine was in worse shape then yours and I was quoted $1800 to repair it...

    Here's mine...

Default The first thought of mine...

Truthfully my first reaction was anger ,when I got out and saw my car smashed ,espeacially because it was the other driver not paying attention ,rubber-necking,I was furious. What really annouyed me was when I asked the Police officer how the driver was and he told me she was just being dramatic ,that she was fine!!!

fyi, when I ever rent a car from enterprise, regardless of if I make reservations weeks in advance or walk off the street, they always hand me an suv. Maybe its their policy for big fat guys? They do honor the rate of my reservations.

7k in damage. loll... my insurance had to pay since the people who hit me had no licenses and no insurance. Plus, they took off after the accident so i had to court several times afterwards.

Default Got quote from body shop....

Body shop est says $4100.00 and over three weeks to repair,as I look at the list it seems like they miss someimportant things and are replacing some stuff thats ok,like they want to replace my muffler and two rims ??Im just wondering if they arent shooting for a total by setting this repair figure high?Isnt there a percentage of the cars total value that they go by?

Sounds like they're trying to rape the insurance...

Sounds awfully high quote..... I'd just take the quote and get the check from the insurance and take to another shop...
