Averaging 42mpg in town and 38mpg highway. Using Scangauge II to measure. Highest I have seen is 55mpg on the highway with a strong wind pushing me and 60mph max.

My scan gauge II spat out 40MPG during one leg of a cross country drive. I fueled up at a service station and then proceeded back on the highway maintaining 70MPH constant until it was time to fuel up again. A/C Off

I check my mileage using a calculator & my fuel reciepts. The best mpg I've seen with my standard transmission xA was when returning home to upstate NY from Virginia. I kept the speed at 65 or less, with only a couple brief exceptions and got 40.99 mpg.

04' 5sp Getting 35-37mpg city/hwy mixed but tend to look for 55mph back roads which gets me 37mpg every tank. If I drove it easy I bet I could hit 40mpg but the gearing manual trans is too much fun!

I'm constantly getting 27-30 mpg on my XA 5 speed. It's well maintained and I replaced the spark plugs a few months ago. Tire pressure is good, etc. I get lower gas mileage on the highway than the street.

Has anyone noticed a change in gas mileage after installing bolt on parts? ie intake, headers, exhaust, etc.

I'm wondering if an intake would help get better gas mileage.

it doesn't... the K&N cai for our cars makes it a lil worse. the injen sri makes it about the same at the stock intake box... all the header does is takes the noticeable power band down by 1000 rpms...

i went all back to stock and was still getting the same mpg numbers when i had all those bolt on's installed...

Thanks. I guess I'll just keep it stock. I'm more interested in better MPG than performance. I feel like an old man.

just as long as you keep up with the maintenance you'll be golden... clean the MAF sensor and replace the pcv valve since ppl tend to over look those two items all the time
