I'm not sure if my '06 has done this since new, but I noticed the engine light blinking 5 or 6 times after the engine starts. I was due for the 5k oil change and went over by 400 miles... could/would that do it? I've changed the oil myself, but how do I reset that (without pulling the battery).

 

Yep, you need an oil change and to re set the light

make sure the trip meter is on the odometer setting,
turn key off,
while holding in the trip re set button, turn on the key and hold button,
you will see it change to -----,
then ----
then ---,
and so on until it clears and goes back to odometer,
your done

 

Its is your MAINT light blinking (hopefully). Having an ENGINE (Check Engine) light blink - is a sign of a very serious problem.
