the only thing is that the vvti makes it a mod that is not worth doing unless you are going for an all motor setup. i am sure www.elprototypes.com can give you all the information you will need about doing this.

All I can say is good luck.

Even the 2ZZ, Toyota's newest flagship 4 cyl, doesn't have cams.

I think the VVTi makes it much harder to create cams for...

They still make cams for hondas with iVTEC, which is the same as vvtli. The reason they dont make cams for the toyota vvti or vvtli motors is the amount of r&d & cost is very high and the market is much smaller than for hondas. not enough people would buy them to make it worth while.

VVTi Is a constantly changing cam setup. VTEC is a set spot where the cam come on... this is why there are VTEC controlers to change when it kicks in.

VTEC for example, is a cam changing system that utilizes multiple cam lobes on either one or two camshafts. VTEC shifts between a low cam profile and an high cam profile setting based on rpm. This system does improve peak power, and can raise red line (up to 9,000 rpm in S2000), just like an engine with racing camshafts, and increase power from 10-25%. However, the VTEC engine must rev at or above it's threshold rpm to really get things cooking. VTEC is used on Honda and Acura engines.

VANOS and VVT are used by BMW, Toyota, and various other car manufacturers. These systems allow earlier or later valve opening through cam phasing. The camgear changes the phase (or position) of the camshaft based on engine load, and is controlled by engine management system according to need, and actuated by hydraulic valve gears. At high speed for example, the inlet camshaft could be rotated in advance by 30 degrees or so to enable earlier intake opening. Unlike VTEC, these types of systems come closer to infinite variable timing, since they do not rely on changing cam lobes to vary timing.
Isn't the Last supra VVTi? If so .. HKS makes cams for it. Intake and exhaust

^^^ vvtl-i is not the same as vvt-i.
vvtl-i is more like vtec, that's why cams can be made for the supra 2JZ.

The 2JZ does NOT use VVTL-i.

There is no lift in that motor. 2ZZGE is the only Toyota motor with lift.

Yes you can get cams as was said before ...both intake and exhaust ... but the vvti does make it diffacult to produce power w/o a cam controller and cam gears...we have been working on some for both th xB and tC
