1zz throttle body swap, work in progress (with pics)
has anybody tried it? just shariong....
have done some preliminary fitment but still having problems with the iscv.
i have a 1nz-fe but am in the philippines...so ecus from your usdms mite varry.
got the 1zz t.b. from a friend there in teh west coast....checked the tps..n prpoblem same resistance readings. problem is the iscv...so i swapped my oem iscv in on the 1zz usdm t.b. but still getting high idle. think the valve in which where the iscv connected to is too big still. have a couple of ideas on how to solve this....trying them out later this week.
t.b. comparisson....5mm diff on butterfly mouth
had to fabricate an adaptor plate becuase of theres one vacum chanel on the 1zz t.b. that will stick out of the mouth of the 1nz intake manifold.
had to fabricate another plate with a nipple for the stock breather...and plug the big breather tube. you can do this differently.

cool man, glad to see you doing work on this.. I think you are probably only one of a very small group actually trying things like this, so it may be hard to find input..
sounds like IAC valve is doing its job, but for a bigger engine.. I dont know how you could trick it to close some. You may want to try creating a restrictor plate or something
to reduce the idle air flow. I am not sure how possible that is to do, but that is all the idea I got..
also check out some Yaris forums, those guys get pretty experimental..

thanks man.
that was what we were thinking too...starting off with a piece of coke can then boring holes one at a time...til it gets it right. then replacing the tin can with a thin piece of aluminum and welding it on the vacum chanel.
its really primitive...but might work.
thanks street tse lethal :D
sorry mods for the signature.

www.yarisworld.com has a friend of mine on there who swapped a tc throttle body onto our motors but threw a cel with it. he since then removed it but kept the tb spacer with no problems.....
