Hey everyone...
I installed an intake on my xb last saturday night...
Nothing special, really...I'm just stoked that I got a great deal on the intake. I got it for $6.85!!! Thank god for ebay!

im all for torque, but its somethign this car doesnt really need in my opinion, the gearing is short as it is

i mainly got it for the sound...plus, ANYTHING that improves performance (even if just a lil bit) is worth putting on these cars. esp. if it just costs $6.85!!

only the aem from the dealership loops like that, i got mine from a tuner shop, and it just comes out straight and goes down behind the foglight

its for sale if anyone wants it, i dotn have the xB anymore

Has anyone had trouble with their dealer AEM cai rubbing against their driver's side fog lamp fixture? I see the fog lamp shake at night when the lights are on and it bothers the hell out of me, not to mention it has put a nasty dent in the filter. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I'm thinking about buying a K&N filter to replace the AEM one because the K&N seems to be more of a cone than a cylinder (and it's shorter at the top of the filter where I'm experiencing the rubbing).

Injen makes an exact copy of the AEM CAI from the dealer. I agree it's loopy and long but when you have the intake just go straight down, I think it leaves a big empty void that just looks so... empty. I like the polished tubes, looks mean, and it's nice to fill that void with polished tubes. (Notice: sexual innuendo not intentional.)

there was a guy selling it for $80 but mentioned in his auction that he'd be willing to trade for the styrofoam storage unit. i'm not using mine since I have an audioformz enclosure in its place. i sent him my storage unit which cost $6.85 to ship, and he sent me the CAI when he got the storage unit.
i have to admit, though...i was like while waiting to see if he'd actually come through w/his end of the deal. fortunately he did.

Good point, Satmax. I totally agree w/you. I always thought it was rather loopy too, but as I was installing it I noticed how empty the space was where the stock air box was...the intake tubing fills it up nicely. And it gives them a playce to put the fancy shmancy AEM badge!

yeah i do agree it does look nice with the loop, its great on the looks wise, but if i buy a performance part i want the best performance for my buck you know what i mean.

if i ever get the time/ money ill try to work on different prototypes of intakes and using my gtech pro competetion.

im working on suspension products first right now.

but i would like to see more variations of intakes for the Xb, AEM made that loop one and every one seemed to follow the wagon.

i had the rubbing problem, it rubbed so bad it ripped up the mesh on the filter and i have to replace it. Does anyone know the diamter of the tube? I saw a filter on e-bay thats 3" and im hoping it fits cuz it matches and is cheap.
