Decent. I like the SRI design better as it removes some of the clutter from the engine bay.

Got one too...it was one of the -- if not the only -- one available when I bought my xB. It was the only factory warranted CAI option so I went with it. The dealer installed it before I took delivery of the vehicle so I don't know how it stacks up against others, but it does keep the filter element away from engine heat. I replaced the original (oil impregnated) filter for a dry one. Much easier to clean. fwiw...

IMHO the best by far is the 1st gen Injen intake. The tubing is minimal, and there are no drastic bends in it like the AEM. The filter sits right behind the drivers headlight. This should give piece of mind should you find yourself in puddles as deep as your front lip.

I put the original "L" shaped CAI from AEM on my box in 2004 and it sounds great and adds performance! Just one note, it did not come with a bypass valve so I had to cut it in two to add it. I found out the hard way that it is a necessary evil when I ran through a mud puddle in Richmond, Va when the engine went into "safe mode" killing the air flow sensor. Toyota replace that twice for free until we figured out what the problem was. Other than that my box is still running strong with 170K miles!

the bypass valve would go before the MAF right?

I like mine. I changed it up a little though. I made a grille after I got my hood and decided the heat didnt really matter because the hood and the grille.

EDIT: Okay, so it isn't a cold air intake. A short ram with ram air kinda. But its an option.
