the zz's dimensions are hardly larger than the 1nz.

Right; and no one has done the 1ZZ-FE swap in an xB/xA because of dimensions.

no it's not cause of dimensions, it's cause of the price of the gfabrication required to make it fit. it'll be a costly swap if you have a shop do it. i've been quoted 6 grand to 10 grand , engine , trans , ecu , misc parts plus labor... it's not that hard but unlike honduh swaps there are NO swap KITS
