Default any muffler/exhaust that's quieter than stock?

hi y'all

I wouldn't say the stock mufflers are that quiet. I was wondering if there is an aftermarket exhaust system that's quieter than the stock one.
I guess I could weld a bigger/longer resonator....but I don't know if it would go well.

can anyone suggest me a way to get more low-end torque? I heard high-flow exhaust systems will give you some more HP, but result in a loss of some low-end torque...

sigh, if I had a supercharger, i wouldn't be worrying about losing torques.

Other than a larger resonator, there's not a whole ton that you can do. It's a pretty restrictive setup already.

Are you sure you have the stock exhaust? Not sure how you could get much quieter than that set-up.

I tried to put together a system that was almost as quiet as stock. I used an aero 2" resonator and a magnaflow 2" universal along with 2" custom stainless piping. Its not too bad, but its a tad louder in some places, and about the same in others. I would have opted for a longer magnaflow muffler in place of the little aero, that might have helped a bit. The stock system in places is necked down to about 1.5", the 2" has a lot more torque and response, which was what I was looking for since I have an auto.

thanks for the reply

yea, I have an auto too, and i always hope there would be a tad more of torque. up the hill to my school, it always has to kick down to 3rd gear, and all the way up to the top.

just add a longer resonator you have a good 8 inches or so to add in resonator length.

if you want it quiet use a louvered core resonator , you will feel the loss in performance but it will def be quieter.

i must ask though why ?

stock is pretty quiet but it is a "sports tuned exhaust"
