Default Buying a USED xA.. can someone help

I am deciding between two xA's. One is an 06' with 9k miles but needs a lil body work. The other is an 05' with 15k miles and needs no body work. This is my question.. The 06' model seems to shift smoother than the 05'. Does anyone who has drove both year models know if that is how it is? Or do you know if it is just becasue one has more miles than the other?

No mechanical differences between '05 & '06 with anything related to manual trans., clutch, etc.

Yeah, Right NOT!
I'd go with the 05' just because the body is right and original. Miles don't matter cause with proper maint. they should go well over 300K. I know mine will!!!

I wold look for a different one with smooth shifting and a good body. No reason that you HAVE to buy one of those two.

If ur dead set on the 2 then from what ur saying I'd go for the 06. Lower miles, shifts smoother, the other one might be abit abused. How r each of the cars other wise. U said the 06 needs alil body work, well what does it need? Was the car slammed or is the paint scuffed up? Cosmetics r the last thing u look at since it can be easily fixed. If the structure itself is fine and the drivetrain is fine then I would get the 06. Less miles and its better looking, beside u can use the body work as leverage for negotiating the price n if its something like say some minor hood damage that gives u an excuse to get a carbon fiber hood. Just give it a really good once over n if u have any doubt on structure damage than move on. As TheUglyOne said u don't have to take either of them if u don't feel comfortable with either one.

Agreed, why settle there are plenty of them for sale. Find one with low miles, smooth shifting and mint body. Keep shopping for sure unless you can get a hella deal (like under 8K) on those 2.

Default 2005 Scion XA

I say buy the 2005 xa. I have one with over 350,000 miles on it. It still runs great. It is due for a tune up soon, but I love my little car!

You do realize you replied to a post that's over 16 years old now...I hope the OP has made some kind of purchase decision by now.
