Default CAI really works!!

I found out the hard way that the CAI really does work. Visiting Detroit yesterday I bottomed out going over rr tacks. I didn't know that I smacked the bottom CAI pipe into the support beam and broke the weld until I was 80 miles out of Detroit on the way back to Chicago. The only thing that was supporting that part of the CAI was the bypass valve. Eventually that cracked at 85mph. Luckily I was able to salvage the filter. So I removed the damaged pipe and attached the filter the part that connects to the tb effectively turning the CAI into an impromptu short ram. I have an MSD Dashhawk and my intake air temp went up by 30 degrees. Definitely noticed a loss of power.

Yeah.. I have heard similar stories about the CAI vs SR difference on the xA.. seems to be a huge difference on that car vs. what it does for the box. 30 degs is significant.. true your MPG's go up with heat.. but I doubt that was your goal with the intake! lol.. it must be fun having live data (dash hawk) in your car to see what differnces happen, in real time.... good info.

you must have good gas where you live! i got 24mpg in the city with cai. now i get 28mpg without it. not worth the loss of power imho.
