Default this cant be good

ok, so i turned on my car yesterday like normal and 3 lights came on, VSC, Trac Off, and the Check Engine . i said to myself... awwww man. alright so i called my friend and asked him what i should do and he told me to take out my intake, reset my battery and take it in if the problem persists. so i took it out and everything was ok for about half a mile then the lights came on. now my car WONT shift into 4th and it wont downshift when i floor it going like 40 . damn, me and my family have bad luck with new cars. <sigh>
im going to take it in today and see what happends.

tighten your gas cap.

Same thing happened to my wifes car when we got it... pull the cap off & put it back on. I think the car will require a few restarts for the light to go off after all is well.

I don't know how a non shift issue could be in ANY way related to the gas cap... much less traction lights

I don't know either, but same thing happened to my wifes auto xb. I don't know if the car goes into a failsafe mode or what... after searching on here for the problem, we found threads about it & tightened the cap - problem went away.

Tighten the gas cap. It ahppens to me about every 3rd fill-up. Something about cranking down on something that screws on irks me. I tighen it and the next time I restart my UBOW the lights are off.

There have been dozens of posts on this issue. You need to do a search. There are many reasons for this problem. You may have damaged the sensor when you had the intake installed AND the gas cap problem has been notated in many a post. If you have an aftermarket intake you might want to consider having the stock box put back on before going to the dealer. Again--the search button is your friend.
