Changing air filter with CAI
Quickie for you all. I just bought a used xB (and love it!) but would like to change/clean the air filter. However, looking at the engine I have no idea how to get down in there to do this. Is my only recourse to take it to a Scion dealer? Hopefull not. Or is there a way an idiot like me can cahnge this sucker?
Any thou
on this?

You should be able to reach the filter from under the car. You probably need ramps to fit under there. If you don't have any, I recommend Rhino Ramps from Auto Zone or Pep Boys (if they carry them). The Rhino Ramps I have a light-weight plastic, have no lip on the sides of the ramps so cars with low clearance are no problem, and they stupport 3,500 lbs per side. (for my wife's Sienna).

Then again, if it's a $10 filter, I'll just replace it.
If I can get a new filter for a reasonable price, I'd be for replacing the filter, but for those pinching pennies, does someone know:
1) If the filter can be cleaned?
2) How to clean it?
3) How often it should be cleaned/replaced?
