Cheapy ebay mufflers, anybody tried
if you rectify the phetus capacitor by the contrapaloose, you'll get 400 wheel torque power. you have to get the jdm kit though or else the o2 sensor will backfire and ignite the transmission.
To get back on topic....My experience with ebay mufflers is good. No problems yet. And the 2.25" won't change the torque enough to really matter as compared to the 2.0". The HP gain, although small, very small, will make up for the loss of torque IMO.
quick question. if the inlet on my exhaust is 2..5 inches, doesn't all my piping have to be the same diameter? i want to make as much low end torque as possible since that seems to be where it needs it most, so i know smaller piping will do that, but i wonder what kind of difference 1/2 an inch will make really. will it be noticable or mostly a mental thing?
dont really know. i would think as long as it only expands the 1/2 inch at the exhaust instead of all the way down, you should do okay, but there again im the one who asked the question to begin with(so, you might not want to take my advice)
random super. no you can normally bump up about half an inch.what the do is put the end of the exhaust pipe in a machine that stretches it out a bit. making the difference in size closer to 1/4 or 1/8th.

Darren, as per usual you have really good info! Thanks for guiding along this thread
I like this look you have in picture above. But for a different reason here: I will want to ditch my round DC muffler (std on RS2) if I lower my car much from what it is now.
the DC Sports muffler is my rear-end lowering limiter. It will scrape if I go too much lower in the rear.

I'd need a flat muffler, pref. stainless, pref. all-welded (for gas tightness) and since I don't really like rumble, would love to have a super quiet muffler but have a decently fat tip like 2.5" to 3". I don't need the BIG old DC sized tip. Do you have any suggestions for this? OR is is cheapest/easiest to just go with a stock muffler (but I want maximum silence if I go oval/flat.
OH-- how are you gonna clear the rear bumper opening for the tips? Just make a cut in the plastic? That'd work, right?
actually dual mufflers are quieter. or at leadt it was quieter on my supra. it ws over 110db with a single can and it was at 98 db with the dual can...... so i'll take my experience as proof.
and as far as the rear lip goes reid it will be custom center exhaust. the two lips will be joined together , a new oem style center exhaust cutout will be made. the oem opening will be filled in.
reid try a turbo muffler. and no not a 3.0 inch inlet turbo application import muffler but an older style "turbo style" or also referred to as "super turbo" they sound awesome bring up tq over a straight can , but still flow better than stock.

for all you with exhausts, wat size tip would yo recomend to fill the gap, allow me to do a slight JDM slant lol and not look too big? and what diameter inlet? my b-day is comming up soon and felt like doing a cheap mod.
thanks
thanks
Hmmm...good to know. I'm sure if I took a single type and put it on, then put another one identical to it on to make a dual type, it would be louder with the two compared to the single. Comprende? A lot depends on the muffler too. Maybe that dual style has more packing in it? I don't know. I'm not saying your wrong by any means, I just figured that twice the opening would make it louder.
strup is slanted. and lots of pics of it are on here. and you'd probably want a 3.0 for extreme slant and 4.0 for slight slant.
yeah but the exhaust gets muffled twice. it does depend upon the mufflers. besides i love the look.
