yea, cause i knew on my tc,when i was using stock tranny fluid, even though i had the clutch fully engage it was very hard to get into gears and what not,i thought maybe it was the clutch, but someone mention change the tranny fluid to aftermarket of your choice, and should be alot easier going into gears...

if your clutch was bad, people say, youll know it....there will be slipping and stuff..

But yea either check or change the tranny fluid....

now, it is very possible (has happened to me) that your shift "cables" came out of their seats, under the console.. if you pull out the console, above the shifter, you will see 2 seats where the cables go from the shifter up through the cab and down to the tranny. mine had popped out, due to furious shifting when some somma_____ cut me off...
Long story short, for 2 days i was wondering why i had soooo much play in the shifts, but intermittent engagement.. pulled the console out, saw the problem, pushed them back down into their seats, and sprayed some lithium grease in the sleeves, and have been good to go ever since

hope this helps

When I put on my header I had to use some cable ties to hold the shift cables away from it. It's because most headers delete the OEM heat shield. Guess you'll need a new cable
