Default clutch, 'throwout bearing' noise

dealer put TRD comp. clutch and shifter in at 1500 miles and by the 5k check i had a knocking that was alleviated by slight pressure on the clutch pedal. i suspected the clutch relaease assembly/ bearing and told them so. they said it sounded fine. they said this at 10k, 15k and 20k. THEN i joined this site and you guys said it was the throwout so, at 25k i told them to get down there and take a good look. well the dealer says it WAS the throwout after all. then he tells me that the shaft is toast and now i am waiting for a case too. startin to sound like a rebuilt trannie to me. anyway, thanks for your help and if yer clutch makes noise, make 'em LOOK at it. i'll keep you posted on details and timeline on this. been one week so far! lookin at a few more days.

sorry it took so long to get back...car was down 16 days. throwout assembly, shaft and case. in other words, R/R the trannie. seems to be fine now. we'll see. a correction too....this occured at the 25k service not 20k although it had been making the noise since before 5k. dealer kept saying it was ok. go with yer gut!

dealer did the samething to me. "Oh it sounds fine" So now I don't know what to do. All the dealers around here are cheap foos. And I have trouble recreating that sound every time I'm at the dealer. Hopefully it will sound all the time before the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty.

I have that noise as well. Did it mess up your tranny?? I haven't switched it or done anything with it because I'm changing my clutch soon, but if its affecting my transmission please let me know!! I will change that today if i have to.

i have a chattering coming from my tc clutch.

ie. parked in neutral, i push down the clutch pedal, hear a faint but distinctive chattering coming from tranny case. when u rev, at the beginning of the rev, the chattering gets louder and i feel friction on the clutch pedal foot.

dealership says its definitely an issue with the clutch system. then only way they can find out, is to drop the tranny and look at the clutch. which will be 8-10 hours of labor which will not be covered by warranty. then, if the clutch plate itself is bad, i will have to pay to replace it. however, if any other part (throw out bearing, clutch fork, etc..) is bad/defective, it will be covered under warranty.

i don't have the $$$ to pay for that right now.

trouble is, that bearing slides along a shaft. shaft goes south then bigger and better things follow. nip it in the bud and save money in the long run!
