Default E-85

Does the xb run on E85? I remember reading in my manual something about ethanol but i lost it some how. I cant remember if its yes or no. also, ethanol is 10% less efficient than gas right.

Do NOT use E-85 in your xB - Scion/Toyota allows a maximim of 10% alcohol (ethanol) in the fuel.

Use of E-85 in a Scion could easily damage components.

Ur car is not designed to run on E85. Can the car be converted to run on it? Yes. Is it worth it? No. All ur fuel lines need replacing, u'll need engine seals that are designed to work with it, plus you'll need bigger injector colder spark plug and a recalibrated conputer. I have an old issue of CarCraft where they converted a 350 chevy to run on E85. The key areas were spark and a carburator designed for the E85. They later ran a supercharger on it and got over 600hp. The stuff is an excellent racing fuel as i believe the octane rating is 105 in E85 form and about 115 on straight ethanol, plus its easy on the environment and is renewable.
