Default ebay muffler

hey guys im going to be putting a muffler on my xA this week. im just gettin an axle-back done. but i have read of peple wondering about it so i just decided to do it. i bought the muffler off of ebay for i think 25 and i have a shop going to do put it on for 40.

i do have a back up plan in case it sounds bad. i am having flanges put on so at any time i can switch back to stock. so i will let you guys know. my internet is down right now so i can't post pics. im using the computers at school.

so wish me luck i hope i turns out good

if it works i only spent $65 on a system and i can spend the money i saved on an intake. if i doesn't i only spent $65 and everyone will have learned a lesson.

I did something similar. I purchased a universal chrome muffler from Pep Boys. I slid under the rear of the car and found an exhaust clamp right by the axle. I only had a few hundred miles on my xA so the clamp came off without any issues. I removed the axle back exhaust and took a sawzaw to the pipe right at the enterance to the oem muffler. I have a small MIG welder so I welded on my Pep Boys muffler and reinstalled.

The exhaust note is a deep low rumble. Not too obnoxiuos but come alive at full throttle.

Total cost was around $40 and took me about 1 hr

i have the exact same muffler, the damn thing sounds pretty good. I was really surprised to purchase a muffler that wasn't raspy or ricey. It has a nice clean tone, though with the xB, it drones a little bit at about 85 in 5th. you get a lil of that wawawa sound, usually when you are next to someone else with exhaust. but overall, I haven't had any complaints.
