Default Exhaust System?

Besides Magnaflow, do you guys know if any company does make a true full cat back exhaust system because I been doing alot of research and nobody does make it besides the magnaflow. If Magnaflow is the only maker, can you guys tell me how is the performance wise if you own one or experience the exhaust. Thanks

Borla also makes a cat-back exhaust. It runs dual tips, so you would need to trimout the rear bumper on the driver's side.

My only experience with the Maganflow was getting to go for a ride in Rollhard's Greddy turbo'd xB. The exhaust was nice. It fit the bumper opening well and sounded great. Rollhard said it is the only off the shelf aftermarket exhaust he would even consider for the xB.

Thanks. I'll go with the Magnaflow considering Borla I have to cut the back bumper. Thanks again.

I've never seen an Espelir cat-back. Only axle back for the xB. Do you have any links so I can check it out.

I have the Magnaflow... Absolutely love the sound! I also have an Injen SRI. Great combo! I picked up the catback, installed, for$240.

I am sorry, but I could imagine no way in the world you could get a Magnaflow brand cat-back installed for $240. Heck, the exhaust shops pricing would be at least $240 for the system by it's self.

Now you could probably have a custom cat-back done in aluminized steel without the mandrel bends using a Magnaflow muffler and tip for $240. That I could believe.

no seriously, where did you get it for so cheap. I was looking on ebay for one - just under $500. And you got it for less than half that installed? I dont believe it. If its true, hook me up with one.

Do you know if this muffler has that valve inside of it like the OEM mufflers do?

I'm putting on a custom dual exit exhaust system this weekend. I'm looking for a relatively quiet exhaust that would just deepen the tone a little bit. The original idea was to start behind the cat with 2 1/4" pipe to an 18" resonator, a magnaflow single inlet/dual outlet muffler, and tips. Took it to the shop today so they could put the car on the lift to see how everything would fit, and the guy recommended that I keep the stock resonator on. They'll cut the pipe just behind the stock resonator, and start with the 2 1/4 pipe there. All in all it would save about 65-100 bucks, and he said it would give the sound that I want without any unwanted restriction. Anyone have any comments on keeping the stock vs. putting on an 18' magnaflow resonator?

put in the magnaflow, you know its gotta be less restrictive than the stock one, for an extra 65-100 I think it would probably sound nicer. All up to you, I think the shop guy would just rather use the stock one, so he doesnt have to bother with the rest.

umm all these systems are designed for highest possible flow, most people dont realize that 4bangers need some backpressure so you'll lose lowend and gain the highend. There is a valve on the market that is used as a permanent adjustable silencer which if you could adjust it to respond to rpm or throttle position could mimic the stock spring. As far as the injen i think its fairly new.

I had it done at a muffler shop. You're right... aluminized steel, no mandrel bends. Unless you're running turbo or a supercharger not having mandrel bends isn't going to make a difference. I have a great sound, with a little bit more "go". That's all I wanted and that's all I got. If you ask me, $240 is all I'm willing to spend for a couple of horsies. If you pay another $200, you might get lucky and get one more horse... so what.

but if you try to go out and buy just one horse, they go for like $2000 and up.
