Default Exhaust Tip Recommendation

Looking to simply add a tip to stock exhaust as a cheap mod to reduce some of the "noise". Read elsewhere on here that extending the tip beyond the rear lip would help.

Can you recommend a tip? I'm not a welder so probably looking at a bolt on.

Scion retails for $64 and on ebay for $47.98 (Item number: 4619434707)

And saw an "SS Exhaust Tip" shipped for $25.99 (Ebay Item number: 190078525142)

Thanks in advance....Ken

What noise are you trying to reduce? I remember with the stock exhaust, it was so quiet, I could hear a pin drop! I don't know if you are looking for looks or what, but here is what I have....it came with the exhaust....magnaflow

Hope this helps some!!

Eh, you box is looking good since it got body work and paint.

Good job!

As for me I just went down to the part store and looked for a bolt on that I liked. Cheap and eazy, just twist it on and bolt it down.

No body work yet, just tail lights...the guy just hit the tail light and the quarter panel, still have to get that fixed.....well that and the whole front of it!! I wish she was fixed!! Trust me, I will have a whole new thread when she is reborn!!

I'm not sure about reducing noice. Maybe this is just quite compared to the exhaust on my last car. This is what I have. About 28 bucks from Advance Auto. I've posted a better pic some where, I'll try to find it.

Awww...thanks!! I am a perfectionist, and if something is not EXACTLY how I wanted it, I won't take it!! The guy that did my exhaust, I have known him for years!! He knows what I like, and we put about 5 different exhausts up to the car to see what looked best, and put a rag around the pipes and had him rev it so I could also hear what they sounded like! Haha!!

And the tail lights are exactly what I wanted too! Nish Designs!! That guy has been helping me out so much, and we have so many ideas for my car!!

Exactly what I was looking for. I'm headed for an Autozone tomorrow!

As for the noise, I was reading on another thread that extending the exhaust beyond the lip cuts down on noise inside the car. So before I start using the Raammat to dampen the sound I want to try the exhaust tip. And after looking at the pics it lloks like it's worth it even if it doesn't help cut down noise in the cabin.

THANKS!!

I bought a nice looking tailpipe from Auto Zone for less than $30. But the original equipment tailpipe on my 05 xB was welded on. I had to have my Toyota dealer take it off when I went in for an oil change, but he didn't charge me to take it off.

It's just a tip from the parts store. Round tip oval pipe eh, can fit!
Try not to look at the pineapple in there.

Geting ready to put on some round fogs next.

I was gonna get a square tip, but with how the bumper cut out is round, I didn't think it looked right...

that is the same one that I put on my mom's car, I can't stand that the tip is not flush with the bumper so I begged her to let me put it on and now she loves it.
I also took it down to the local muffler shop and paid the $5 to weld it on, don't trust the bolts.
