Overall quality, Im not impressed with. Installation was much more of a headache than is should have been. It never aligned 100%. This is also the one that did not have the threaded holes where the spring bolts were. But I guess it gets the job done.

spend the 60 bucks or so if you want.. but i have experience otherwise with headers and different cars. Cheap headers dont always flow as good. Also watch out for the welds. if not welded right, it could (and will) crack prematurely. you'll know when that happens, cause the car will get really loud good luck.

i dont mind spending 300 bucks on a header, knowing that the installation was easy and i'll more than likely never have to pull it off to replace it.

CNC machined flange means it won't bend or warp on you. and welded flange on the outside and inside mean it won't crack.

does the ebay one have that?

Yep very thick flange that was very flat. No leakage and very nice looking welds. For $60 shipped I'm more than happy.

i'm confused about headers. i hear 2 different stories. does headers improve MPG or reduce it? i've been thinking about throwing one on but if it reduces MPG, forget it. i also have a borla exhaust.

The header is more efficient and should improve MPGs BUT only if you can stay outta the throttle and drive conservatively.

Sorry if this sounds rude but......

I don't understand why people don't get this????

If you are looking to upgrade your aspiration, it all works as one "system".
If you upgrade your exhaust system, Yes, you will have a nicer sound but really no gains, because the "system" is not being supplied with any more volume from your stock intake. It would be the same if you only upgraded the intake or header, the rest of the system can't support the higher flow rates.
If you were to upgrade your exhaust, header and intake to make a full "system".
The intake will supply more air to the motor, the header will allow better flow for the higher volume and the exhaust able to process the flow of the exhaust.

Add a new fuel rail and bigger jets and then the full "system" would be complete!

More air + more fuel = less MPG but performance is +
More performance = Less MPG
You don't get something for nothing!!!!

I have the weapon r 4 2 1, it has more broader torque curve, so you can drive it like a real stick shift. However, driving it like that, I got 29 and 30 mpg. Driving it the same old way, shifting at 3-3500 rpms I got back to old fuel economy 39mpg.

Its nice to know I have the power on tap and its made my exhaust way quieter than the strip muffler was.

FYI, the stock header is a 4-1 but the tubes are about 1/4 inch smaller than the ports.

CanxB, you got a point. Maybe I am alone at this, but my ac feels colder.

Free flowing can make more power, therefore less petal is needed making the car more efficient. Backpressure can be your friend or ennmy. Considering these cars cruze at 3500rpms.
