Default HEADERS

Has anyone had any luck with either a 4-2-1 header, or a 4-1 setup?

I have used headers on several cars in the past, and swore off them, but find myself looking once again to punish myself for a littttle more.

Has anyone got or foound any dyno and rpm numbers for thedifferent ones on the market?

Thanks

Gary

check the tech section for reviews on the parts

I have the MMW 4-2-1 setup and while I can't tell you if it adds much hp because it was the last bolt on I put on the car, it is a great product and unlike other headers reuses the heatshield.

I have the MMW 4-2-1 header. I does pull a bit harder.

For real dyno numbers get the next edition of TPR magazine. They will have a report on headers for the xB.

BTW, TPR got 8hp from a CAI and 1-2hp for axle backs.

I put my OBX header in yesterday. Besides my issue with the bracket (which I have learned is no big deal since most headers dont use it anyways) the header fit right and helps with a smoother merge onto the highway. Cant say Im blowing people away off the line, but for $124 shipped with a new manifold gasket, I feel that it was well worth it.

Oh and OBX is the only other manu that makes a 4-2-1 header which is supposed to give you more power in the low/mid rpm range.

I also pm'ed Matts_xB, who has the OBX and he replied:

no problems yet.
I drive the xB everyday.
Ive had it installed for a little over 6 months i think and havent even had to tighten the bolts since the install...

Default Headers!

Thanks everyone for your input on my header questions.

I had not even thought to look in the tech section, Doh!

BTW Duck Dodgers, if you are going to critique someones English, you should make sure you are correct first. Try reading what I wrote, and you will find I was referring to the use of many "header" in the past which would be "headers". A v8 uses headers, a 4 banger would use a header Sorry to burst your bubble! But nice try, and thanks for the Butt dyno info.
