Default I have a question??

Does the small box that is bolted onto the top of the air box need to be connected when an aftermarket intake is installed? What exactly is this box? I've noticed that the SPFR intake dosen't have a place for this box.

Thank you[/img]

I think you are refering to the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. It must go into the new intake so the ECU knows how much air is entering the engine. The aftermarket intakes have a hole about an inch in dia. that the sensor body fits into and is held in place by 2 screws and don't forget to plug the wire harness in.

If you are refering to the box on the side of the stock air box that clips into the plastic mount... No, it does not need to attach to the new intake-that was just a convienent place to mount it.

Hope this helps.
