I have had my Injen cold air intake on my car for about 4,000 miles, at what point do i clean the filter and what do i do to clean it or replace it? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks for any help.

 

just get a K&N filter charger kit

 

4,000 miles is probably a bit soon to clean unless you drive on dirt roads daily. I know K&N filters are supposed to be cleaned a maximum of 20 times. Their million mile claim is because you're only supposed to clean every 50,000 miles (normal use). You're supposed to reoil, but not clean, if the filter looks dry. Unless they specify differently, I'd assume other oiled gauze filters follow the same maintenance and max cleanings.

 

I have the same intake and i was wondering the same Q haha. i was jsut gonna take in off and compress air the _____ haha.
