just installed an echo ecu...
this is my first post in quite a while. i kinda fell off the grid, had a lot goin on, moved up to bremerton, yeah, anyways, i just got an ecu out of an 05 echo with a manual tranny, plugged right in. i drove it around the block really quick to make sure it ran fine and so far no problems. i haven't had time yet to really see what the difference is, if any, but i will keep adding to this thread, i will be playing with it today...

Maybe I missed something but what would a stock echo ECU do? I have heard they are easier to use with a turbo or s/c because they have 1/4 the memory the xB one does-or is this just a "to see" kind of thing because no one knows what will happen?
No disrespect, just asking.

definitely watching this. don't fall off the face of the earth again until you update us. i'm willing to do this to if it all works out for you.
is the pinout the same? (ie: plug and play?) and have you scanned for any codes? i'm assuming it keeps the odbII.

find a spot to do a lil ebrake sliding to see if you still got stability control (there should be a beeping if you do).....do a burn out to c if you have traction control (if it doesnt burnout and you have to turn off the traction control by pressing the switch you still have it)
