I got the TRD installed last friday, took our local muffler shop 5 minutes...exact fit, no mods. I really wanted a muffler that wouldn't be too noisy and I got the right one. My babies ride with me on Thursdays and Fridays and didn't want to mess up their hearing early, plus this conforms to the DMV 95db(I think) limit for mufflers and comes with a certification. It is 1 piece, axle back system only, not cat-back like it says on the box. Picked it up from W. Covina Toyota TRD specialist Tim, nice guy for around $257 + tax. I like the breathability it gave the scion coupled with the AEM CAI. I drive an auto so wife can enjoy it too, so I need as much Hp I can get to boost this car a little bit. I also was going to have some pipes custom made from cat to this TRD system, guys at dealer thought it may void warranty. I am very happy with it. If you want louder mufflers, this is not for you, get the ones they talk about in the other forums like Greddy, bulllet, blitz, they have more Hp like 8-10 as oppose to about 3-5 on the TRD. Hope this helps.

i just want to add that the greddy, blitz nur spec, etc do not add 8-10hp. that is a myth. especially with our small engines. but they will help a little. maybe 1-2hp at most. that is, unless they cause a loss in power, which is possible.

I am using the Magnaflow mirrior finish muffler with a ___ tip. Here is the link to the pics.
http://scionxb.net/index_files/styli...is_exhaust.htm
It is completly quiet at high RPMs, of course I also had the entire exhaust system done as well.

Nice work...The muffler and tip is very similar to the TRD, jI ust like your tip better because it seems thicker and polished better. Wondering how much the system cost without the muffler, just all the custom pipe from muffler to the cat. Thanks.

:?: Curios to as if you can install a Flowmaster on the Xb. It seemes that there is an awful lot of room under there. Also was wondering if anyone has gone up to 2.5 or 3 inch piping?

2.5 and inch piping is too big. stick to 2-1/4.

I would stay away from the Flowmaster. I put one on my wifes accord when I was young and didnt know better. It was the loudest thing I have ever heard. You couldnt even hear the radio while on the freeway. It was all drone.

this conforms to the DMV 95db(I think) limit for mufflers and comes with a certification.
That regulation is such a BS. Have you heard one of those Harleys on the street lately?

Now, I am not even into loud exhaust. But, I am sick of authorities that makes up the regulations that they are not willing to follow through on all people.
