yeah i know theres a butt load of exhaust posts out there but none like what i want

i'm looking for a very quiet and free flowing(for performance) exhaust system has to be cat-back would be a major plus

i just want to rid of the droning sound i don't want it a low rumbling sound or a swarm of angry yellow jackets...

pretty much like the sound of exhaust system on a 50's buick when its cruising by you don't even hear it i want some thing like that...

 

The Tanabe's are some of the quietest out there, unless you go custom.

 

i'm running the magnaflow cat-back exhaust with a dc sports header...quiet at idle..a little loud when getting on it..very mellow at freeways speeds...had it for a yr now and no tickets or any looks from the po po....lol

 

i'm already on dc 4-1 header and trd axle back plus i would like to add needs to be quiet at highway speeds

i need to keep my header in place

 

Your best bet would be the magnaflow cat back. Perfect bolt on and a clean look too! :D

 

yeah exactally the magnaflow is the best bet...havent had any problems with it and it looks and sounds good....

 

thing is i don't want a low grumbling sound either like you would hear on V-8 engines

 

if u can u can go to magnaflows website and actually listen to it...there use to be a video with a xb revving up with the exhaust on it...

 

take your muffler off and see what it sounds like. You might only need a piece of straight pipe bent to replace the stuff from the axle back. It makes an interesting sound that way, and it doesn't cost a fortune to do.

 

There are no free flowing systems that do not have a low tone to them. All free flowing systems make noise, or else it would not be free flowing. The Magna Flow catback has a deep tone, but will not drone on you. If anything you might just have to stay with your stock muffler and just mod up the motor.

 

get some sound deadening material and line your box with it...

yeah , best thing is keep stock center pipe , but that doesnt exactly equal to high flowing know what I mean ?


the longer and bigger the resonator is. you can run close to a 32 inch resonator down the middle . in say 2.0 inch and then a oval body fiberglass packed s bend straight through muffler at the end would probably be decently quiet.
