unless this kit is around 250bucks....your getting ripped.....get the magna flow muffler and pay your local muffler shop to put some 2.5inch tubing from the cat back....no mickey mouse clamping either......welding has its place....

on my civic....magnaflow axel back with 2.5inch pipe from modesto muffler 89bucks
obx 2.5inch mid pipe 110bucks......for 199bucks even i did my full cat back on the civic with full 2.5 inch pipe....

but hey u wanna spend $400+ go right ahead...im not into wasting money

Ahh, without people with this type of mindset, companies like APC and Tenzo R would have nobody to sell their fine product to. Especially considering local muffler shops will madrel bend the pipe and make a few passes on the dyno before and after the install to make sure there was a definite power gain. And then when they're done with that they will try other combinations to make sure power is maximized and fitment is proper. In my opinion it makes a lot less sense to pay $250 for a one off exhaust than it does to pay a bit more and get something that has spent weeks in a well renowned company's R&D department.

metal pipe is metal pipe.......any good shop can mandrel bend.....and any good import shop should be able to build u an exhaust system rather quickly that would do better then your cookie cutter magnaflow.....that system's pipe is run in the exact same place as the old pipe...hung on the same hangers...and with 2.25 pipe to boot...lol....i would bet money a good shop could make me a system for my scion with 2.5inch that would get way better gains then the magnaflow system

just for kicks....ill have it done....then dynoed at www.midnightperformance.com for ya....the civic now has a custom exhuast 2.5inch with thinner gauge pipe with the same magnaflow muffler done by www.karmotorsports.com (soon to be featured in superstreet) and it outperformed the almighty greddy evo on dyno....greddy research and development bull____ outdone by a professional shop....one cookie cutter exhuast from magnaflow can not and will not ever be a 1 is best for all application....as far as i knew all proffessional race exhaust systems were and always will be custom built.

See, I am all for that.(since I am the guy that provides that service) But sometimes, people want the satisfaction of doing it themnselves and not having to worry about taking in their cars to someone. Also not all shops have mandral bending machines and the fact that the magna flow has the system already made to the exact specifications for the right amount of horse power sounds pretty good to me.
As far as welding the system, sometimes you have to remove it for other repairs that may happen along the way. And I know that our cars are not going to run properly with 2.5 inch pipe. So, you might want to rethink your stance on a system already made for your vehicle. espcially since the system does come with a resinator (good for the cops to stay away) for a deep sound and your civic system done in modesto has a straight pipe.(Not good for the cops to hear )

Just sharing the knowledge :D Are you?

As a shop owner, Stylis has first hand knowledge as to the differences in a custom made hydraulic bent exhaust system vs. a factory made mandrel bent cat-back system tuned to the particular nuances of the specific vehicle it's made for. Nothing wrong with going either way, but your not getting the same product....each has its own benefits which may or may not be important to you....

Exactly! Two different kinds of styles and values to look at when deciding on an exhaust.

I believe that the magnaflow is a full stainless system..It will outlast any taiwanese made b-pipe that is mass produced also, or your terms "cookie cutter."

2.5 is a bit much for a 108 hp motor. You will lose low end torque.

Im sure even they spent hours R&Ding there custom exhaust.

$400 for an exhaust, man thats kinda steep. I also have to watch cabin noise, cause the wife is usually on the phone with clients while im driving. I have the Iceman and the Vibrant Exhaust on the NEON, which we are using till the xB comes in, and if i punch it, she cant hear the other person on the phone ... kinda funny, but i get yelled at.

Ok, I know everyone is raving about how good this system and I do not doubt it one minute, since it is Magnaflow, but I would still like to here how it sounds inside and outside of the car. The sound clips on the Magnaflow website have to much echo in the background to really tell if it is to my liking.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
