there is no way an xB is even in the same class as a tC. tCs are sport compacts xBs are just economy boxes with 106hp wow. put 1k into a tC and put 1k into an xB and see who wins. thats right see ya later xB

tC wins because the xB is still ugly!

TC people are just too proud of their ride.
I'd like to see you put your money where your mouth is...or should I say - your MAMA's money cuz that's how you got your ride
If your TC is an automatic, keep away from manual XB's.
If it's manual, then pat your MAMA on the back for making the right choice.

yo xb guys let me just clear this thing up cause this is just gettin really dumb. I know where your comin from i thought my wifes manual xb i/h/e was fast cause thats all i drove besides my work van. But then i got my all stock manual tc, i know, i know your talking about autos. But theres no way it is that much slower. I know it is a bit slower though. I fist drove my tc home from the dealership and thats when i was like omg i thought the xb was fast. I was all talkin ish to dudes at my job tryin to play the box too. Tellin them they dont know about it and what not. Now dont get me wrong i love both cars i take turns driving them every day. But if i had 2 chose to take one to go race id take the tc hands down. Now s/c the box i dont know i never drove or saw one in action to comment.

Come on, the auto vs a Box is gonna win.
If it doesn't, you can't drive - as in put it in D.
The box is just an Echo with more sheet metal.

And who cares? I surely didn't buy my tC to race or be a "bimmer wannabe"
I like the xBs. Don't be dicks.

I've proven more than a couple of times that a manual XB can spank an auto TC. This was before I turbo'd my XB and I was just running I/H/E.

I like the TC's too, but some people just can't fathom the fact that an XB can kick some a$$ - for an "Echo with more sheet metal".
No one likes getting beat by a box and the look on their face is priceless. A couple of those disappointed/shocked looks have come from TC owners' faces. So like I said, it's a proven fact that an auto TC can't put up with a manual XB. The dicks are the auto TC owners who can't seem to accept this.

I dont get what the whole m5xb vs a4tc thing. They're probably close enough to come down to a "driver" race. But lets face it, Tcs are faster, m5 vs m5 the tc will win everyday unless your a horrable driver or the xb is running some kinda power adder. I didnt buy my xb to race, and for the year plus I have owned it , I have not drag raced anyone. I like racing, just not big on beating on the box, but diff' strokes for diff' folks i guess.

And the Tc's front end is very reminicent<sp?> of the z3(maybe z4, I can't remember from memory) front end. i like it

back to the original posting.... a supercharged xB with other mods vs a stock Tc with an automatic..... xB wins...as far as the Tc manual being fast... i would put my L67 grand prix i picked up for 5 grand up against a Tc, or a supercharged Tc anyday... ;)

Whats an L67 grand prix? my last car was a 98 grand prix gt and i beat my friends integra gsr but it was up a hill so my 210 ft lbs helped and he sucks at driving.

the L67 is the engine code for the supercharged 3800. the non supercharged is a L32, still a capable motor with potential.

yep, i had 2 of em, with a c.a.i., exaust, and a shift kit you can smoke most 5 speed v8's, especially mustangs! add a decent ignition and wires, youve just turned grandmas grand prix into a sleeper. don't forget the 3.8 was also the displacement on the grand national buicks which were one the only american muscle without v8 power! i am all box now! those car are worthless over 100k, they fall apart around then.

do you really think a GTP could beat a S/C Tc? that might be a good race actually

200hp tC 3000lbs vs 240hp GTP 3800lbs?

in stock trim auto for auto, yes! the gtp tranny is more agressive, against the 5speed would depend on both drivers abilities-prob the tc, but it would be close!

GTP is 3500lbs without driver. dont mind the hp ratings, the torque stock is 280 ft/lbs at 3000 rpm. itll shred tires all day long. it is a very potent car. also, with the addition of simple bolts ons it becomes a monster on the street. S/C Tc wouldnt stand a chance, not until you start going around corners anyways, thats when the GP would start showing its weight.

Also, the newer GTP are 260hp 280tq and just shy of 3600lbs.

Keep in mind you are compainring a SCed tC with alot of work to a bone stock GTP. A moded GTp can put down 300+ at the wheels with alot less work; ie sc-pulley, cia, exhaust, and tune

i'd be interested to see this... anyone wanting to film/record this on posting it on scionlife? that would be awesome!

if only just for curiosity's sake
