Default Monster Motorworks, do these guys actually exist?

Does anyone know if Monster Motorworks is still in business? Thier website is up and all but after reading all the hype about their 4-2-1 Header, the fact that it uses the factory heatshield and their posted dyno results, I was leaning toward getting one of those for my xB. Even though their product is high dollar, I was buying into the "you get what you pay for" claims they made to defend their pricing. The problem is, over the past few weeks I have been emailing them at both the tech and customer service email addresses they list on their site but have not heard a peep back, nothing. A week or so ago I found out that they are or were a division of Weapon-R so I sent a couple guys there an email asking them how I can get a couple simple pre-sales questions answered about Monster Motorworks headers. The crickets are chirping and the silence is deafening as I havent gotten a courtesy reply back from them either. At this point I have to wonder if they are still in business, because if they are its scary to think what kind of support or service I would get after they have my money when I can't even get a simple reply from them when I have money in hand ready to spend. I have also read another reference on this forum of somebody else not getting replies from them either. Does anyone have a clue of what might be going on with them?

The OBX header is indentical minus the heat shield tabs and costs about 140 shipped. I did a lot of research on here about the 4-2-1 header and I found a post where people where buying the MMW's for $200 when they first came out and then all of a sudden went to $325. I dont trust shady practices like that. The OBX quality seems to be ok, only time will tell.

The $200 price was an introductory pricing, $325 is the retail price, nothing shady about that. Also, FYI, the OBX header uses smaller primaries than our header. The design may be similar, but the results are different. =)

If you need information about any MMW or Weapon*R products, feel free to contact me at ray.fong@weapon-r.com

I bought the MMW / Weapon R header for my xB and I love it. I bought mine from Promotiontuning.com for $215 shipped. Got it in 2 days and loved it from the get go.. Thanks MMW/Weapon R for a great header.

Can you substantiate this? / where is the proof?

I'm almost thinking I'll buy both just to see.

ie: I'd be HELLA ____ed if I bought a much more expensive product ($325 to $135) and it proved to be only marginally better.

What is the size of your primaries?

What are the size of the OBX primaries? (presumably you know the exact size of both if you are able to so quickly say that yours are better)

have you ever put each of these headers on a flow bench and can you provide a link to the results?

Thank you in advance for all your answers

They are still in business. You might want to just try picking up the phone and calling them. I just got my headers / intake last week and I love the setup.

Read the part reviews in the Parts section of this site. I remember there being some negative comments about OBX's welding job or something like that, and generally people are unhappy with OBX. I know MMW is still in business or at least on the boards, you can see his post history to confirm it.
