Default NA thoughts for Xa

I've been wandering around looking for what I can do for my car to remain all motor and have a decently fast car. As reading turbo magazine and seeing Blitz had turbo'd a Toyota Prius and mentioned the motors are the same. Then thought as looking further seeing, how the bottom end of the prius runs a 13.5.1 compression as opposed to our motors with a lower compression. I'm looking into getting the bottom end of the pruis and build it..and put it on the Xa...and run higher compression.

When I was pricing used 1nz's I noticed this note on one of the auctions:

INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, OIL PUMP AND ENGINE MOUNTS ARE DIFFERENT ON PRIUS.

Your post made me think of it and I somehow even managed to find it again since I couldn't remember what they said was different. Don't know if that matters but thought I'd pass it along...

Close, its running a 13.0:1 ratio. I want to know, why then is the gas engine only rated @ 76hp. It sounds like a good idea for a all engine build up. Now the only thing to worry about, is if the engine could still safely rev up to 6500rpms still. I think the idea is something like 5-10hp for every 1:1 you raise it right? So then you would be going up to about another 10-20 or so HP just from this. Do a port + polish while your in there & maybe even a 3 angle valve job. Get some headers, echaust & intake. Also you will need to find a new head gasket/use the pruise unit. With that type of compression, I for see the stock unit not holding up long. Then get that cam con thing & you should be up in the 125hp N/A range. You should be able to take it to those FI cars then.
