Power hungry at least not for a while.

EMU 03-27-2005 12:27 AM

What kind of Fuel management you running?

tckurt 03-27-2005 02:18 AM

Yea he has pics on his website link... anyways that pretty cool what psi are you pushin?

xmetalx 03-27-2005 02:53 AM

man 11 lbs of boost......thats insane for these motors what internal work did you have done? fuel?

Derk-xB 03-27-2005 03:03 AM

I think 21% might be a little high for your estimations. I'd just say 143 fwhp since that's as accurate as you can get. Everything else is just an estimate.

Either way, great job! Way to work over a 1.5L.

Posted up a pic of me on the dyno. I will scan my dyno sheet in the morning and post it up. They had a neon srt4 to pull a 441hp.

fachiro1 03-27-2005 04:54 AM

Thanks for the great info. Man, I want to do that to my box. Is there any difficult mods you half to do, or can a shop just install everything?

rotarycolt 03-27-2005 05:40 AM

Awesome. You know, I was actually bidding on that kit last year, then you bought it instead. I am happy for you.

We'll have to meet up one of these years, all of us boosted folks, and I can show you guys what kind of ridiculous ____ I have going on :)

unlmtdndeavor 03-27-2005 08:47 AM

nice buddy. did you get that clutch in? put it on a track now, i wanna see what it pulls

mikochu 03-27-2005 08:53 AM

Hey matchbox,
What's your best track time? 1/8? 1/4?

matchbox 03-27-2005 10:17 AM

boost

You should have seen my grin when I pulled on the dyno. Kinda makes all the engine work worth it. Like the 1st place trophies to show how much you have spent on your money pit.

The PE300 only adds a new high flow fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator in the tank. You then run a vacuum line up front to the pressure relief valve and to the pressure side of the TB. I may add a S-AFCII just have to many projects in the works at the moment.

I did a 10.62 with just the supercharger in the 1/8th last fall. I haven't got to run since my header install. The races they had today were street races. Straight from yellow to green no tree action like I'm use to. Plus it was cold and couldn't get traction. Just kept getting wheel hop off the line. I want to get down to Rockingham to a 1/4 mile track. The 1/8 mile sucks it's like stop light to stoplight.

I did get my SPEC stage 3 clutch installed and its killer. No more slip when I get on it. If any of you are in the NC area and need an install I have a killer hook up on labor from a friend. Toyota wanted $400. My friend does it for $280.

The PE300 never met Brians reserve on eBay. I offered him $1600 over nighted from Cali and he took it. It takes about 7 hours to install. I did it myself it's fairly simple. The local shop rates are $700 to install it. I would help install it if anybody gets one. What a great way to waste a day.

nice run on the dyno...i am going in the next few weeks...i'll post up to compare notes...

Thats what we wanted to see.

Very nice, when can I take it for a drive? :lalala:

mikochu 03-27-2005 08:36 PM

I can't wait to see your new 1/8 time (and hopefully a 1/4 time) with the header and new clutch.

With just an intake/header/exhaust (res-back) setup, I run a 10.623 (versus your 10.625) in the 1/8 mile. I wouldn't doubt the tracks weren't calibrated the same, though...

TheDanger 03-27-2005 08:48 PM

holy hell my buddy ran a 10.9 with just a injen short ram intake with his box. Would love to see the 1/4th though.

matchbox 03-27-2005 10:04 PM

times

I am also running 34 lbs 19"s. I also have a stereo in the back. I think the xA is a little lighter. When I turned the 10.62 it was 95 degrees with about 70% humidity as usual in the Carolinas in the summer time. I need to get to the track to get my RT down I think I had 1 sec or more. Was sleeping. The other time on my timeslip was a xB with an intake and catback. 11.937
This was with just the SC no header yet.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to pee in your corn flakes. I'm hoping you do much better the next time around at the track. With the reaction times...were you bracket racing?

BoomBox757 03-27-2005 10:14 PM

damn, you should loose the rims, get some 16"s and a fiberglass box

mikochu 03-27-2005 10:15 PM

nevermind about the bracket racing question...slips tell the tale.

matchbox 03-28-2005 12:16 AM

box

Well its half fiberglass.........Looking into some Axis maglites to race with.

dgHotLava 03-28-2005 01:00 AM

Re: motor pic 56K beware.....

how did you take a pic under my hood.... :tap:

matchbox 03-28-2005 01:17 AM

under hood

Also have two HID ballast mounted behind the grill now. :silly:

TheDanger 03-28-2005 02:43 AM

yea I think its time to but some 16 or 17 lightwieght wheels...maglites will be good. Maybe some stickier tires. Should see a big difference.

crestronwizard 03-30-2005 01:40 AM

Prob took the pic when your hood was open all day :-) Man was it cold out there!! Great dyno pull.....that was the last thing I stuck around for. I like the LAmbo doors too........does anyine know of someone doing suicide doors?

matchbox 03-30-2005 03:07 AM

Dyno

I'm headed to a chassis dyno Monday to get a couple pulls in in 4th gear as it is a 0.9:1 gear as 3rd is a 1.31:1. Plus I was making boost at redline in 3rd.

BrianxB 03-30-2005 03:05 PM

with the 1/8th mile ETs and trap speeds that you posted, youre on par to hit mid to high 16s.

If youre really running on 19s, thats seriously killing you. Id really like to see what you could do with some 16 inch wheels.

Derk-xB 03-30-2005 03:27 PM

what's causing that huge torque dip?

Lonely_Raven 03-30-2005 03:35 PM

Matchbox, you are my HERO!!

I never considered boost at all till I saw your dyno chart.

I'm so floored by how good that looks. I just don't have the skills to do all that
myself, I'd have to take it to someone to do the work.

Oh man I so want 150HP at the wheels now...I'd *so* be arrested though! LOL

Fujiz_xb 03-30-2005 04:27 PM

man congrats on the upgrade.. so their is hope for our boxes out there huh?

Lonely_Raven 03-30-2005 04:54 PM

We really need to see the longevity of the moter after this
boost takes it's toll on the box. That is a major worry of mine,
as my box is the daily driver with my Porsche 924S being
out of comission.

there is no torque on that dyno sheet....

its HP and MPH...the dip would be a shift....

Sciond 03-30-2005 09:45 PM

I have seen Matchbox's Xb up close. It is awesome!!!

Ah...that makes sense now...

rebelMan 03-31-2005 02:12 AM

hey, nice setup u got. Is that the GReddy kit? What did u use for fuel management etc., do u have any technical info about the install etc.?

dgHotLava 03-31-2005 02:25 AM

greddy is a turbo kit....if you look at the picture you can see this is belt driven...

rebelMan 03-31-2005 06:21 PM

i know it's a S/C lol, i was just wondering what kit it was for the 1nz-fe. it's not the blitz kit cause that looks totally different. i thought GReddy made a T/C and a S/C for our engines

dgHotLava 03-31-2005 07:26 PM

look at the picture, the answer is there....
