Default Oil pump

Anyone know how to tell if the oil pump is bad? My xb seems to be with high oil pressure and there's a crazy noise coming from the timing chain side of the motor any help will be appreciated

Usually the service manual will instruct you to measure the clearances inside the oilpump. If oil pressure is high and theres a loud knocking noise, perhaps one of the oil passages has clogged. Do you do regular oil and filter changes? The knocking noise could be massive rod knock from lack of oil. If it is... engine rebuild... Do not continue to drive it. Take it to a mechanic.
