Default Power Enterprise Cam-Con

OK I just got off the phone with my connection at Power Enterprise. The Cam-Con will be here in May. The MSRP will be $425. The unit not only will control the timing on our VVTis but will control the VTECs . There is also a built in Air/Fuel controller. This unit is the best of both worlds. Now I just have to sit and wait for mine to come in.

PS watch for more coverage on this piece being it is the only VVTi controler being made. I have a feeling that the contoller price will stay kinda high as they have the market cornered on this one.

Default Cam-Con

Make sure you watch out for a tech writeup on the unit. Coming soon to a magazine near you.

Wow. I was thinking $600 so $425 is great. Any idea when release is planned?

Initial testing on a stock Celica GTS showed a gain of 11HP. What will our little motors do? We'll have to wait and see, but my guess is it will be worth about 4-5HP, with a significant improvement in the overall drive-abilty and a noteworthy boost on lower rpm torque. Prepare yourself for premium gas prices though

my resources inside tell me that on the celica bone stock it made 14hp more hp to the wheels just by turning on the cam-con. Also it retails for $419 not $425. You dont have to use premium but its recommended its still gonna make power on reg gas.

Default Power

Yes the VVTi help but does even better with a Super Charger. As for as the Cam-Con price it wont be coming down any time soon. Also, helps when I can get things from PE through my work.

tuning is CRITICAL. you can put all the best parts in the world on the car, if they aren't tuned right they aren't worth jack. point in case a particular Vakamon infiniti G35 twin turbo drift car making 500rwhp on 91 octane at conservative boost with only a stock tuned ECU (no piggybacks or stand alones what so ever). even crazier is that more power can be extracted out of it on 91 octane. it's all about the TUNE.

with this in mind, if the user doesn't know how to tune this product properly just by installing it won't do anything. just try to stray away from honda mentality thinking adjusting the VVti to the lowest/earliest possible point will give you maximum gains.

Did you think about this before you wrote it? VVTI and VTEC are 2 completely diffrent systems. VVTI Varies the timing +/- 60 degrees and VTEC varies the cam profile through an oil pressure activation solenoid. That is why our cars don't have a "VVTI Solenoid" like any VTEC motor does.

Think about it.....makes no sense, why would a unit made for VVTI control VTEC......2 diffrent systems makes no sense.

VTEChttp://auto.howstuffworks.com/framed...tec/index.html

IT is deffinately not the same as VVTI. VVTI is a ocmputer Program where as VTEC is a mechanical feature.

Before you posted your comment did you actually check out the power enterpeise website?? http://www.powerenterpriseusa.net they say it the unit controls both then it does wouldnt they more about this stuff than you? VVT-i and i-VTEC are similar. VTEC and the i-VTEC are similar but different in there ways thats why u cant run a V-AFC (Vtec controller) on i-VTEC.

Nah, Its better to just respond to a post than to do research on exactly what someone is talking about.
