Scion xA check engine light codes P0441 P0442 P0446
My check engine light turned on while i was driving on the freeway. But the car seem to run fine so i went to Autozone and purchased a OBD II reader.
They gave me these codes:
P0441
P0442
P0446
evap emission control purge fault
evap emission control leak
evap emission control vent circuit malfunction
I knew that it was probably emission control, looked at the other previous post and
found that it might be a leaking hose or detached vaccum hose by the air filter.
And a vaccum hose was unplugged.. the weird part about it was and clamp was moved... i had my car last oil change at oil changers... did they.. well
Put it back and all is fixed.
I hope this helps anyone that might encounter the same problems.

You're lucky that you were actually able to track it down so easily. I had similar evap codes on my tC (0441 and 0455) and it took 3 trips to the dealer to get them to find the leak (turned out to be a spot of dryrot on a 5" elbow hose that was burried).

My check engine light came on a few hundred miles after I got an oil change as well. I bought an OBDII scanner online and got those three code as well! That EXACT same hose of detached on my xA.This thread helped me to find the problem.
I think the techs pull out the air filter to see how dirty it is as part of their standard check points. They may have forgotten that they detached that hose or pull it out by accident.

right on
Here are some pictures to find required hoses and stuff.
I sonder how one would reset the light after the problem is fixed though?

I actually did this to my self after cleaning my K&N filter element. CEL came on while driving and after thinking for a few min I remembered that I forgot to attach the EVAP purge hose. Reattached and after 10min driving CEL cleared on its own( had to cycle through purge event).. Alls well now.
BTW, had problem with smelling burnt oil, then raw gas after exiting interstate driving, suspected oil or gas leaking on manifold and checked for leaks in engine compartment. Found none! no oil spray or leaking on engine anywhere.Using close to 1quart of oil per months driving and could not find out why.. Then when replacing plugs found #4 plug lose, no effort to "break" loose with ratchet, and after removing found ou plug was burnt up. Had large gouge in ceramic insulator and lots of soot (burnt oil) in plug well, all four of the ground tabs on plug were gone (platimum +4 plugs). Cleaned and installed new plugs = 3000miles later and no more fuel/oil smells at all!!! Wish me luck on fixing my refueling problems, cant add gas without pump cutting off!!

I got 2006 Scion XA with about 50K on it.After trip to Tahoe I got a lot of CEL codes and overall suggested cost to fix it about $900. After scratching my head I recalled pouring some gas from a canister that probably had some water in it. Am going to buy that water eliminating gas additive.
Here are my codes, Any suggestions?
evaporative emission system leak detection:
P043E, ref orifice low flow
P043F high flow
P2401 pump stuck off
P2402 pump stuck on
P2419 - evaporative emission pressure switching valve stuck on, possible water in the canister system. recommend replace pump, filler cap cover.

OMG, here is another thing that I have done recently that would trigger emission SEL:
Emmission system codes will trip the cel and it will stay illuminated, untill cleared....like evap codes set due to leaving your car running while filling up.
