get some belt dressing to spray on the belts, you should be good to go for a while!

Spray dressing is OK for simple fan belts spanning between pulleys a good distance apart on the front of an old engine. But so little of the xB serpentine belt is free and clear that spray dressing will get all over the engine.
I would get the kind in a tube, put some on a finger, and apply it to the belt that you can reach. That little bit will get spread all over the belt within a few moments of running, and should do the job.
Belt dressing is a tacky substance that makes the belt grip better, while the soap you propose would be a lubricant that would make the belt slip. Soap would probably change the squeaking, but maybe for the worse.

i've done the soap bar trick and it works, you can do WD-40 on the belts too which does not make the belts slipperier

After the soap or the WD-40 stop the squeaking, how long will that last, and what might the long term effect of these compounds on the belt? My experience many years ago with bar soap and WD-40 was not good.
