SPUTTERING AFTER INSTALLING INJEN SRI
i installed a sri form injen on a 06 xb and i have been having this rpm dropping when i come to a stop and it sounds like it wants to stall... at idol it will be fine until the car warms up then it starts going up and down and it is bugging me everything is installed correctly and followed all the instructions so it is not that their is something loose.... so if anyone has this problem let me know what you did or try to solve it
thanks in advance

Yes, there's an "electronic parts" cleaning spray you can buy at most autoparts stores.
Check/clean the MAF, then just make sure everything is tight and reset the ECU again. That should fix it.

hmmm please tell me how that CRC cleaner works, becuz my cuzn used it on his bmw and for somereason his car doenst start right. He needs to gas it before it turns off. It just cranks, starts, then dies.

Really? hmm sounds good. Im not doubting the cleaner , im actually curious how u used it? So u just sprayed a little bit? let it air dry and now itz good? He did a good 16 sprays since the instructions said so. Maybe he drowned the MAF eh? this is a serious problem though so if any1 can help. plz.

I am curious as to why people think that the MAF needs to be cleaned when a SRI or a CAI is installed? a dirty MAF that affect runnability will always be accompanied by a P0171 lean running condition or P0172 rich running condition CEL.
A dirty MAF is not the problem. An ECU reset is not the problem, a toyota ECU already starts to compensate for the intake within a couple of miles.
To be quite honest, unless you have access to a scan tool to see what your fuel trim values are doing, every suggestion is a shot in the dark. By getting these values you can see if it is running lean
An improperly seated MAF could very well give you the symptoms you have, did you install the gasket that comes with the intake for the MAF? Unmetered air can cause this, in the form of a vacuum leak.
I can help you solve your problem, you are going to have to give more info. Like fuel trim values, picture of your install would be very helpful.

good to hear what you have to say
well as for a gasket no gasket comes with this intake just put in your MAF and secure it down thats all
i will try to get yuo the readings once i get the tool but as of now the intake is for sale

You are failing to see the point. If after installing a SRI or CAI intake and you run into a runnability issue, it is not a dirty MAF, if it were you would have the same runnability problem before the intake install.

you could get a dirty MAF if say you while swapping intakes you put the MAF down somewhere dirty, by a vent, sneeze on it, etc, but it's kinda protected by the plastic except for on a couple sides.
after my CAI install i got a check engine light and freaked out and was doing anything anybody could suggest that wasn't expensive including the crc MAF cleaner (only like 4 sprays, thought 16 was overkill) but in the end, i forgot to hook up the other end of my Vacuum Switching Valve and that was the culprit. i don't notice any drop in performance though, so i'm pretty sure the VSV ain't your problem. but then again, i don't know ____, i'm just learning as i go too.
perhaps the intake isn't seated all the way against the throttle body underneath the injen sleave (totally a random guess)

had the same problem (engine seemed like it was weezing)
1. check for proper install of intake
2. make sure everything is tight (filter, seals, connetions)
3. make sure filter is clean( mine looked as if it could not breath, took it off replaced with new one. banged it on the ground and could not believe the dirt amount that fell off, filter could not possibly be taking in air. scale from 1to 10 as far a dirt factor, 8
Engine does not flux idel, or weeze at idel, saved old filter to clean it with k&n solution cleaner
(just my experience with MY car
