Strup v2 on an xA?
Anybody have a Strup v2 on an xA? I know they're made for the xB, but is there that much different for install, sound, looks, etc.? Or do yah have to custom fit it on?

I was impatient, so I got the Strup universal muffler on my xA

It's kinda jiggly because there is only room for one exhaust hanger. Sounds great, low and deep just like the xBs, a little on the loud side, but it does come with a silencer

I am thinking about ordering the universal muffler. Where did you have it installed? Also, where did you buy it? hopupracing.com has it for $79 with free shipping. Is it cheaper anywhere else?
I got a small discount because Strup is a sponsor of the club I am in, but $79 is a really good price.
I rarely drive on the freeway so I honestly can't tell you, the fastest I drive is 50-ish and it doesn't drone too bad, you can still hear it but it is not terribly intruding. My xA is an automatic and only has a AEM cold-air intake (if that makes any difference)
The shop I got mine installed only charged $35 for installation.
It might be wiser to wait for the axle-back version because it just bolts on and you could put back on the stock muffler if you wanted to. Universal mufflers require cutting and weilding. One shop I went to said that if I wanted to put back on my stock muffler (in case I didn't like this one), he said that wouldn't be possible (for some reason.) So I took a gamble, But I'm pretty happy with mine just driving around town.
Only bad thing about the axle-back is that it is more expensive, but it will be reversable and prolly fit better. it will probably cost around $200-250 (like all the other axle-backs available), while the universal muffler will cost a little over $100 with installation.
Hope this helps some.

$35 is a hell of a deal on that install. Just got mine done at Exhaust Pros and it came to about $100. Abuto an hour to install it. He unclamped the old exhaust and then bent and welded a new piece from there to the muffler. He added a new hanger mount so that he would not have to weld on the muffler. Got two hangers welded on so it is solid. No jiggling. Go to http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2261372 to see some pics of the exhaust installed. It sounds good and I think I like it better with the built in baffle closed. Not much drone at all on the freeway that way but still pretty loud when accelerating. Overall, pretty satisfied.
If you're looking for these universal mufflers from Strup, we have them on sale right now for only $79.00!
