Default Throtle body spacer.

I was thinking of getting a typhooned throtle body spacer and was wondering if anyone else had it and could tell me how well it works or if it even makes a difference.

I've heard mixed things. The biggest issue at hand is needing to fab up a different intake vibe-mount (if you have an intake) since the intake stand off will now be pushed out farther.

since we have direct injection, and not throttle body injection, these will not make any gains on our engines.
people that say they can feel a difference in power can't back it up with dyno pull sheets. i researched this topic alot, and that was what i found.
Increasing the distance from the TB to the intake manifold won't do squat for our engines because there is no TBI at the Throttle body. These work well on carborated engines because it gives a little extra room for fuel and air to mix before being sucked up into the cyllindars. This type of product also works well on a Throttle Body Injected engine for the same reason, fuel is "injected" at the throttle body and the spacer gives a little extra room for the fuel - air to mix before being sucked up and burned by the spark. in our direct injected engines where the fuel is injected directly into each cylindar - way past the throttle body, these provide at a maximum, some cyclone action to the air as it passes through the Throttle Body, much like the "Tornado" type products provide. spinning air is good, it makes more air pressure given the same amount of suction and that is good. Now would i expect to see a lot of gains from a "tornado" type product - not enough to write home about. Now would i spend the $30 ebay to get the spacer knowing it is only going to provide a small gain based on the spinning air effect and not the acutal "spacing" of the TB, given that you have to fab up a way to make your intake fit on it's mounts, because the spacer has pushed everything over? personally, i would go for the "tornado" type product if anything at all.
But, its your $, if anyone can provide a dyno pull sheet on our engine that shows a TBS will provide gains, i'll buy 1, dont get me wrong.... After doing my homework I was not able to fine any prrof that they worked based on facts.

Here's a couple pics of the adapter I made.. I dont know why every TB spacer doesn't throw a couple of these in.. whats the cost? .30 cents with labor. lol

I have a Dyno sheet for an '06 with I/H/E & P and TB Spacer, with a manual trans..
if someone has a sheet with all the same bolt ons, minus the spacer (on a DynoJet at 70 degrees, sea level, lol).. we can compare curves.
I think that torque is moved a little farther up the range with these, the same way a CAI does.. I think.. HP is not added in anyway more than tenths you might see a whole digit or two on torque, but I know I can beat boxes with the same exact setup, but no TB spacer.. its around 5K RPM when they start slowly losing the "pull", I gain a foot or two on them from there to redline at every gear ( I dont fall off as early).. I like to think its the TBS, but I really don't know.. it might just be T....B.S. lol

we have fuel injection. not direct injection. the 1nz-fe engine is not direct injected.
