I live in Orange County and own a Scion Xb. I have patiently been awaiting the release of superchargers and turbocharers for the Xb. As to my knowledge there are none in production for sale currently. However, my brother in Louisianna as o 1.18.2003 t to see about purchasing a Scion during the February delivery of Scions to the Louisianna area. He was offered a TRD Supercharger as a possibility. Does anyone know about this offering of superchargers in other locations being offered the Scion during the February release?[/b]

 

actually who ever took the order may of got it confused... the xB will have an option for a turbo... tC however will have an option for the supercharger.

Not sure on what increase will happen with the turnbo but I can tell you that the tC will have around 200hp with the supercharger.

He actually has paperwork concerning the TRD supercharger for the Scion Xb in his hand. He is faxing me over the paperwork he received from the dealer for me to verify.

Yeah I think a lot of people are confused about this, I've been told that "down the road" both X's would have a Turbo option from the factory, I haven't heard a time frame...who knows...I've seen the Japan TRD turbo, and I'm guessing ours will be the same who know will it will be released though

 

The turbo maybe out by the june US launch...

 

yeah that would make sense, more cost effective to it for the whole U.S, the more they make the cheaper the unit is to make....

 

True... and its pretty close to the japan issue ones... just done up for smog laws and such...

but I can say from seeing the Supercharger in person... its nice... should be a good seller...

Oh man...I am really getting a headache about all these posts spreading false information.

Before I go on, it's not anyone's fault--besides the stupid dealers that no nothing.

TRD Turbo kit MAY/MAYnot be EVER released for the xA/xB. But, if they do release an engine upgrade--it WILL BE a Turbo.

SC is for the tC...the car isn't even out yet, please, don't sweat the SC stuff.

well like JDMxB said who knows reallty...lots of different information out there....I was was told at both car shows here in the D.C area that turbo were going to be offered from the factory very shorty...this by the people working the shows...at S.E.M.A the TRD people we spoke to said turbos were in the works but gave no other info...I've seen the pics of the turbos being offered in Japan right now here on Scion life...in Sept I was told that TRD S/C were comming soon and since then I've been told they were scraped cause cost....One thing I'm sure of when they come out everyone will know about it...it will be a big release...all we can do is wait...I always hated waiting

 

Do we know for sure that toyota will offer a turbo, or is it just an assumed rumor based on the turbo car they had at SEMA?
