Default Ultimate axel back exauhst - straight pipe

At Texas World Speedway yesterday I took my muffler off completely. The car isn't that loud without it!

Someone needs to just make a nice mandrel bent straight pipe and sell that!

why add the weight of the muffler at all?
Aynone wanting a 'louder' exauhst could just go without.

The car has a resonator and a catalytic converter still.

well my box is already a lil sluggish with the system, and with the straight pipe and wide diameter, it became even more sluggish on the street. Like in traffic, you would have to give it a lil more gas. I took it off after 2 weeks but its not hard to do and you could probably get good top end. But I felt it get more sluggish so I put back the axle back

strange

this dyno shows no loss of low rpm power without a muffler, nor did I notice any when I took my muffler off.

you have a stock system (2" or less piping, i haven't looked) and no muffler. that will barely add horsepower, not take any away.

i have 2.5" piping with no cat, resonator, muffler. its just straight thru with all the air escaping. not reall any backpressure there.

your gaining power will i'm losing torque

This just shows how important exhaust sizing really is.... Size DOES count, it's all about velocity without restriction. I would bet a properly designed 2.25" system and good header would not have any backpressure and make more HP and torque than a 2.5" system. Backpreasure is always bad for torque and HP. If you need backpressure to build torque your exhaust system is not designed correctly and you are giving up power that you could have had! Bigger is not always better, not even for peak power!
