that's stupid. at 5 bucks a filter, you would have to buy 30 filters to pay for this thing. assuming you change your oil every 3 months, it'll be 90 months until this thing starts to pay for itself. 90 months is 7.5 years. 150 dollars is too much of an investment for such a delayed payoff.
that's even the thing lasts that long! for a part that you wrench on and off so much, i would rather use something that can be replaced more cheaply.
I have nothing to say about its claimed performance increases. someone dyno this thing. haha.

When i type in *idiot* i get the *idiot letter.* you see, i used to argue with companies about how their products worked, who did the testing inhouse etc, These arguments could take months in the mail. Now i don`t argue; I just send the *idiot* letter and wait for the reply. I have sent many, many letters, but never have I received any valid answers.
HERE IS WHAT I WRITE:
Dear Sirs,
I am extremely interested in (name of product). I have just one request. Please send me a complete biblography of all of your research that has been accepted for publication in refereed or peer reviewed professional journals. This should be published research done by engineers employed by you or those on your advisory board concerning work on the actual products YOU are sellilng.
Sincerely, James

Im not THAT interested in the thing, just wondering if anyone thought it actually filters better. not interested in power increase from an oil filter, I just figure i had a better chance in the "power hungry" forum than say "corner carvers"
too lazy to send letters anyway

Next thing you know we will return to the toilet paper oil filter. Progress is wonderful. http://www.wefilterit.com/
Wow. I doubt that this thing is a scam, but I would find it hard to pay way over $100 on a filter that you can get for $10 at Pep Boys. Here's their claim:
High flow filter = lower oil pressure = less strain on oil pump = saved energy is translated into more HP at the wheels.
Nice idea (all the accessories that your belt is driving [A.C., water pump, oil pump, power steering, etc] ARE using power from the engine, which takes away power from the wheels) BUT #1 I find it hard to believe that there is any such HP gain from this filter, and #2 I would also be concerned with how the filter affects oil pressure. There IS an optimal oil pressure for the engine to run at it's best, and if it changes from what Scion has designed it to be, there may be adverse effects on the engine.
