This connector is located in the engine compartment behind the driver's side headlight, and just above the main frame rail.

What is it for?

My guess is it's power for driving/fog lights - unless there's something's missing on my car.

There's nothing plugged into it.

Yeah, it is.

That's how the dealer installed them in less than 15 minutes.

There's a relay hooked up and everything. All -you- need to add is the switch and the lights themselves.

no.. just one... it plugs into the fog's wiring harness that goes to both foglights..

 

there is two of them.....one on either side. there isnt a harness. the fog light kit comes 2 foglamps w/ bulbs 1 switch and 1 relay........no harness!

 

^^ yep , that's the kit I got.

 

I dont know WTF that plug is, but i just installed stock fog on my 04 a couple of weeks ago and the plug was brown, not grey. And there are one on each side of the car, just below the headlights.

Another thing i noticed, either you have a brandy new xB, or you dont drive it much. That plug looks way too clean to just be hanging out there on the frame rail and not have any dirt or rusty contact surface.
