Default who has headers?

I'm going to be installing my new headers soon and wanted to know how many people have done this and if they had to replace the gasket or if they just used the factory one. I just need to know if there's been any problems with the factory gasket not being reusable, like if it breaks or anything. I want to avoid buying a new one if I have to.

I have the DC Sports header on, i reused the factory doughnut gasket, but i ordered a new exhaust manifold gasket, just to be on the safe side. I ordered it from Toyota and it was no more than $20 i think. Reusing the stock one could cause a leak, because it was crushed to fit the stock header, so do your self a favor and spend the extra couple of dollars and do it right.

DC Headers. I used the stock gasket for about a month with no problems but changed it anyway. Like Proshopxb said. change it to be on the safe side. Its a brand new car, spend the extra $20.

My problem is there is no dealer in town that I can order it from. The money isn't the issue, its the fact that I'd have to drive more than an hour to order it and then go back again to pick it up. I could always call to order but I work and the dealership is closed by the time I can get there.

If its not much, can you do a how to with pics?

I have the DC sports header as well. Very easy I reused all my old gaskets not thinking, but it has been about 6 months no and no problems at all. If I redid it i would def. get all new gaskets.

I have the MMW header and I love it. I ordered a new gasket from this site:

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...40&catalogid=0

I use this site for all my factory parts needs; they are inexpensive, they don't rip you off with high shipping costs, they have a good customer service, and they ship fast. Nuff said.

the usual result is a lower tone from the exhaust makes it sound deeper

Agree. I had my axleback on first. Headers just made the tone a little deeper.

I've done many header installs before and this is the frst scion I did it on. I didn't have a doughnut gasket on my stock header to exhaust part!

So I just used the regular 2 bolt gasket that came with the header and the car sounds horrible!!! I know for sure there has to be some major leaking.

What, can you say that again? Your factory header didnt come with a doughnut gasket, was the Scion previously enjoyed or new? Cause thats a big woops from the factory if they left that out. Was the exhaust super loud or did it sound like a lawn mower? Thats kind a scary to hear that.

it was bought brand new. It's my little brother's car. Sounded just fine before. I couldn't beleive it either!

I'm just going to wait to buy the gasket when we go install an exhaust in a couple of weeks.
