to xA owners with the K&N CAI w/pics
maybe the xB idk...
went and took off my k&n cai and installed my stock air box (testing / errr more like working on a theory and no my cai isn't for sale)
when i took off the air filter off the cai and found a couple of wear marks that wore threw the prefilter and working on the filter it self i didn't really look too hard on where it was rubbing at so idk about that
just a little heads up

Is your fender lining okay? It's almost like it was rubbing against your tire or something. The fender lining on my passenger side is worn out. It's probably from the air pushing the fender lining onto my tire when I'm going 80+ on the highway. *shrug*
found a some what of a good fix for the problem

ruin the shield and not the pre filter and filter then i know i'll be set to go then...

forgot to add that the cai does improve mpg... i can tell with my vacuum gauge... just don't know how much yet...
since we already know that the stock air box is restrictive makes the engine work harder vs the free'er flowing cai/sri= less engine strain...
btw my theory failed, idc didn't cost me any thing to test anyways...
