Default xB Intake Performance Dyno Showdown idea

ok, who want's to help out?

I need enough people to voulenteer a day of their time to make this worth it.

Here's what we need (if you have any ideas feel free to let me know):

A group of at least 5 people that have NO affiliation with Injen, SPFR, Blitz, AEM that will compose the panel that will judge quallity and install ease.

We need someone to voulenteer their car for the dyno runs.

We need people to voulenteer their Intakes for testing. (Injen, SPFR, Blitz, AEM, and any others that people are willing to let us use)

I'd need help organizing the time and place, as well as raising enough $$$ to pay for a day of dyno tests.

Vendors are welcome on the test day to show off the features/benifits of their products. to the panel.

Panel members will take notes durring each install and will indivdually rate each product, and those ratings will be averaged into one rating for each Intake, and individual comments will be added to those ratings.

Dyno results will be posted alongside each rating & comments here on scionlife after the tests are completed.

Any suguestions? anyone willing to help put this together?

i hope this idea takes off. this will be a good way for someone really show off what there intake can do. the only thing is that it can't really be dyno'd on different cars because people can say there are differences in the cars which cause horsepower loss.

what we'd need is one single car that would do all the dyno runs.

then we'd take the test intakes off each donor car and install on the dyno car.

that way all the tests would be consistant.

the dyno car would be 100% stock, then we would test each intake on it - to show the difference from stock each intake makes, no other mods.

and then the panel could also watch the install process of each intake.

this is why it would have to be an all day thing, we'd have to dyno a stock xb, then install an intake and dyno, then remove and install the next intake, dyno, and repeat until all the intakes are tested.

For real reliable results.......you'll have to dyno the car stock between every intake dyno. For example.......dyno the car stock..........dyno the car with Injen intake.........dyno the car stock again.........dyno the car with SPFR intake........etc.

You may think that having a panel of people with no affiliation to any manuf would be advantagous, but its quite the opposite. If you have a panel of people in that field, they will be the most critical of any intake system since that's what they do for a living. Only they know why bend angles are critical, flow length, min pull length, manuf techniques, polish/paint techniques and finishes, hose clamp quality, etc..the list is so long. They can give the correct pros and cons THEN YOU can decide from the information they give which is the better intake.

And as far as dyno'g a car, let that same panel determine the best dyno procedure since they also dyno cars for a living. THEN YOU can decide how to interpret the info.
