xB Shuts off / Won't Start - P0341 Code
So this is my first post, I wish it was on a happier note ;-) . So my car idles fine but once I get to about 3500 rpms it just shuts off and won't restart. (it doesn't lose power, it straight shuts off)
My code reader shows P0341- Camshaft Position Sensor A, Circuit range/performance.
I put another camshaft sensor in and it does the same thing and throws the same code. New engine with 18k on it, new VVTi sensor, new crankshaft sensor, new fuel pump. I am at a loss.
Any ideas of what it could be?
Thanks!

Did you put a Toyota sensor in or an aftermarket unit? The reason I ask is that I've had very bad luck with aftermarket parts lately. I'm back to using 100% OEM stuff.
The second thing I'd check is the wiring leading to the sensor. Since your engine was replaced, it is possible to have damaged the wiring leading to the sensor.

So it ended up being the harness to the crank sensor. It was touching the ac pulley which damaged the wire and caused it to short. Soldered the wire and re-attached to the block and it is perfect. Could barely see the break in the wire!!

Glad to hear you're back up and running and we could help!
