Engine swap xA
#2
Anything is possible with time and money. The trouble is, swapping an engine these days is much harder than it used to be with all of the sensors and computer controls. How much time and money do you have and what are you trying to accomplish?

Working on a bit of a budget, maybe ~$1000 at my disposal at this very moment but I could save for something more expensive if needed. Main thing is my car has 210,000 miles on it and was thinking about rebuilding the engine and making more power mechanically (like boring and stroking the engine). But just wondering if there is a good swap out there that might be better. Also I have the manual trasmission.

Quite honestly, I don't think you're going to get very far on a swap with that budget unless you're real handy and do everything yourself. Remember, these cars are not (and were never) designed for high performance and if you crank up the HP, you're just going to find the next weak link - especially with 210,000 on the clock. Just my 2 cents and I'm on my second xB.
