Is there a stainless steel exhaust system available for the XB?
This is the full exhaust system including the pipes. Not just the muffler or tail pipe. The whole works.

When it comes time to replace the stock system I figure a stainless will last for ever.

Thanks.

Pretty much all cars come with stainless exhaust these days. I'm guessing the xB is no exception.

That being said, there are various grades of "corrosion resistant" steel. Regardless...nothing lasts forever...

No... most cars these days do not come with stainless steel exhausts. Most still come with "aluminized" steel exhausts at best.

However, there are some "cat-back" stainless steel options available. Off the top of my head I would say take a look at both Borla and Maganflow. If I remember correctly Magnaflow is a little bit cheaper.

Off the top of my head, Magnaflow is the only company I know with a cat-back for the xA.

Look at this article: http://www.thefabricator.com/TubePip...le.cfm?ID=1153

"Today most new cars come equipped with stainless steel exhaust systems because of increased durability requirements."

I still don't buy it. Go crawl under 10 random cars on dealers lots today and tell me what their exhaust is fabricated from.

Stainless steel just isn't worth the cost. Aluminized steel is much cheaper and will remain corrosion resistant in almost all instances longer than a factory warranty.

Can you tell simply by looking what grade of steel an exhaust is made from? I work as an engineer in the automotive industry and I can't tell. Maybe you should take the word of the experts.

Stainless does not mean "polished" and there are various grades of stainless. The type used in exhausts is not the same as the type used in surgical instruments.
