Default ZPIracing turbo kit ideas

We have already started with design of the turbo kit. This is what we have this far. We thought we would post it so that you could give us your opinion.

We are new to this platform and want to hear from some of you.

GT28rs turbo
FMIC
Cast tubular manifold
Tial BOv
Internally Gated
alchol injection on the standard kit
12 psi

******NOTE THIS CAN and probably will CHANGE******

i maybe wrong and this has been a topic of much discusion and you probably lnow more about the fab. end of car tuning than i do im just a tech and all but ....is 12psi the ideal amount you should put on the 1nz.....wouldnt 10psi be a better amount with the availibliity to tune it higher after internal work.....you would also have to include some kind of ecu/af controller.....like a preprogramed E-manage or somethin

I am curious why you wish to run alcohol WITH an intercooler?

How do you plan to modify the fueling? Direct ECU program access is of course the best option to code in new injector maps, but that does not sound like it exists, so how do you plan to properly fuel and tune it?

i just wanna be able to put it on my car and drive the car like it wasnt there, like it was stock, reliable and fast, id rather give up some horeses and run without problems for 20 years than have 6 more horses and blow the motor in two blocks, good luck guys, i cant wait to see what you come up with

How about the disco potato turbo, or a 16G. E-manage (the newer one), Tial wastegate, 5th injector maybe if piggy back can support it, Greddy Type S bov.

never really cared bout the turbo deal before but seeing as though Im actually going to have enough money for one soon enough, time to get interested.

I cant wait to see the results, but I don't expect much. I hope you have more success than EL. If you can make a reliable 150 hp to the wheels, I think you would have something. Im not a genius when it comes to turbos, or cars. but without major modification I think thats all our cars can take reliably. thats the problem though, because no one wants to shell out 3 k for 150 hp. but thats a 50% increase in power! they expect 220 hp out of an economy engine with rods no bigger than my pinky (ok I exagerate ).

Dont even go crazy in trying to design a kit until you find a reliable engine management system...trust me ZPI, this is a lot different than the tC that you are used to...also remember that this motor is a 10.5:1 compression, also a lil different than the tC. I wouldnt try to run 12 psi regardless of the Alky injection. I would run 10 psi if you wanna be "Safe". I could try to help you out w/ anything if you need as I have already done it and have moved on but I still remember everything that we did and all the different things we ran into through out the process.

I'd say make the turbo kit for reliability. Make it worth the $$, and it should last at least 5 years. Also, with the gearing of our cars, the cruising RPM on the highway is from 3k-4k, therefore steady boost at that engine speed would suck for reliability.

disco potato seems a little big for 1.5l. looked into something smaller like a K03S?

are you under the impression that the engine is constantly under boost?

Personally i wouldn't want anything larger than a T20 on the box. Perfect for mild performance and hella fast spooling

A T25BB is a lil bit better...you can get a few more safe hp on the 25, but I loved the T20 on my box. Without a doubt one of the quickest spooling turbos out by garett.
